Technical Introduction to AHY-22L High-Precision AC Constant Current Source — Testing Equipment for Low-Voltage Electrical Appliances & Load Banks
In the manufacturing and quality inspection of low-voltage electrical appliances, current stability and output accuracy directly determine the reliability of test results for circuit breakers, thermal relays, fuses and other products. Traditional setups combining high-current generators and voltage regulators are susceptible to line resistance and ambient temperature, featuring drawbacks such as current drift, complicated operation and insufficient precision. Developed specifically for low-voltage electrical appliance testing, the AHY-22L high-precision AC constant current source (formerly AHY-10L) adopts transistor linear amplification technology. It delivers AC output with wide range, high stability and low harmonic distortion, serving as a core dedicated device for performance verification, aging tests and action parameter calibration of low-voltage electrical appliances.
The product boasts two core strengths: superior current regulation accuracy and strong universal compatibility. Its constant current accuracy reaches up to 0.2%, with a minimum adjustment step of 1 mA and local control accuracy of ±0.1%. It maintains stable output current despite grid voltage fluctuations and load impedance changes, completely eliminating current deviation caused by varying copper resistance of wires and coils in conventional equipment. Frequent manual voltage adjustment is no longer required, greatly cutting labor costs and test errors. The device outputs standard pure sine waves with a total harmonic distortion of only 3% under purely resistive loads. It is compatible with resistive, inductive and capacitive loads, fully adapting to diverse test conditions and meeting industrial inspection standards.
In terms of hardware specifications and performance, the AHY-22L series features an ultra-wide current output range from 1 mA up to 1000 A and above, covering testing requirements for components ranging from miniature coils to high-current circuit breakers. It accepts single-phase 220V±10% mains input and adopts a three-phase four-wire output structure. The output voltage is adjustable from 0 to 3000 V, and the operating frequency can be continuously tuned between 45 Hz and 63 Hz, or fixed at 50 Hz/60 Hz for power frequency operation. A high-frequency version ranging from 40 Hz to 500 Hz is available on demand to comply with different national standards and special test scenarios. With a line regulation of 0.10%, load regulation of 0.3% FS and frequency stability of 0.01%, key parameters ensure reliable long-term continuous operation. Voltage, current, frequency and other metrics are displayed in real time via high-definition LED screens. The voltage resolution is 0.1 V, the current has multi-range resolutions and the frequency resolution is 0.1 Hz. The overall measurement accuracy is 0.5% FS±5 digits, enabling clear and precise data reading.
Built-in safety protection and automated design further enhance practicality. The unit is equipped with multi-level electronic protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, over temperature and overload. It cuts off output rapidly upon faults and automatically resets to zero in non-test status, effectively protecting both the test samples and the equipment itself. Standard RS232C/485 communication ports, paired with dedicated control software and communication protocols, allow integration into automated production lines and test workbenches to realize remote parameter setting, automatic testing and data uploading, which aligns with intelligent manufacturing demands of modern factories. Adopting forced air cooling, the equipment operates with noise ≤ 60 dB at a distance of 1 meter and carries an IPX20 protection rating. It works stably in industrial workshops with an ambient temperature of 0–45 ℃ and relative humidity of 0–90% (non-condensing), with qualified insulation and voltage resistance for safe operation. Its weight ranges from 15 KG to 900 KG. Customization on dimensions, output voltage and appearance is supported to suit various application sites including laboratories, production lines and quality inspection workshops.
Currently, the AHY-22L high-precision AC constant current source is widely used for action current calibration of thermal relays, thermal tripping current testing of air switches, make-and-break tests of fuses, as well as aging tests for magnetic starters and electromagnetic coils. Compared with traditional test equipment, it delivers high precision, high efficiency, easy operation and excellent automation capability. It supports both high-precision laboratory testing for individual samples and mass factory inspection on production lines, effectively improving testing efficiency and quality control for low-voltage electrical appliances. Featuring mature linear current stabilization technology, comprehensive functions and reliable performance, this series of constant current sources has become a mainstream standard testing device in the low-voltage electrical industry.
